Tibetan & Himalayan Fonts

THDL provides access to a number of Asian-language fonts. Because of the library’s subject matter, our focus has been on Tibetan and diacritic fonts, with a secondary emphasis on Chinese and Devanagari. THDL has collaborated with the Tibetan Computer Company (TCC) and the Trace Foundation to create a suite of public-domain fonts including an Open-Type Unicode Tibetan font freely available along with software developed by THDL and TCC for the inputting of Tibetan. We have also researched the use of diacritic fonts for which THDL has developed some input methods, and we have investigated the use of Chinese fonts.
